Participation doesn't happen by chance. Your support makes it possible
Every person with disability should have the opportunity to take part in sport.
Across Australia, 1 in 5 people have disability. 75 percent want to play sport. Only 14 percent do each week.
The gap is not accidental. We are closing it.
Last year, 3,309 people with disability took part in sport through Abilities Unleashed, and 1.19 million Australians were reached through our Changing Lives Through Sport campaign.
Your support builds the opportunities and capability that make participation possible.
It keeps introductory sport days free, supports clubs to create participation opportunities for people with disability, and increases visibility so participation is recognised and valued. It also creates paid roles for people with disability to deliver sport.
Your support helps more people with disability take part in sport.
Why Your Support Matters
Disability Sports Australia is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission and a founding member of Paralympics Australia. We have shaped disability sport in Australia for more than 65 years.
Participation starts locally. It happens in communities, clubs, and environments built to create opportunities for people with disability.
We deliver in local, regional, and remote communities across Australia, removing barriers and creating opportunities to take part.
Government funding supports part of our work. Less than 1 percent of our revenue currently comes from community donations. Our goal is to grow this to 10 percent.
Your support helps fund the full cost of creating opportunities for people with disability to take part in sport across Australia.
